This update is from Kent Lee, another volunteer in Texas.
We had a very successful press conference on Wed Feb 28th. Total 9 media outlets showed up including two daily newspapers, 6 weekly newspapers, and one radio station.
The Korea times placed an article about us in the front page on Tuesday already.
At the press conference, the first half, about 20 minutes, we introduced ka4obama such as how it started, and where/how many we have supporters are, and as big groups what were going to do, and as small delegation, what kind of goals we are trying to achieve. Reporters were very interested in how we fundraised for expenses to send 3 delegations and place ads.
Also we presented what activities we have done so far, such as visiting media, and community leaders in Dallas, and visiting Houston about 40 businesses handing out flyers and display in window. Also, we talked about future activities such as Ko Mart visit on Sat, and senior association, asked to come out to cover those activities.
At the press conference president and vice president of senior association spoke as well, and they said 30 seniors participated in early voting, and they voted for Obama. It seems to me Obama has been well accepted in Korean community.
The questions from the reporters ranged from what KAs responses have been to what Obamas position on NAFTA and FTA has been, and how it will have impact on both Korean and Korean Americans.
In the afternoon, we had 20 min. radio record with Radio Korea, and they will run it today. We visited about 6 businesses with the flyer, paid bills with newspapers.
