a delegation of Korean Americans will campaign for Obama in the Texas primaries
February 22nd (Friday)
5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

(please say “Obama on Top” when entering the cafe)
In the weeks leading up to Super Tuesday Barack Obama has emerged as a distinctively different and better candidate than Hillary Clinton. On issues that Korean Americans most care about, Barack Obama surpasses his opponent.
- Barack Obama has chosen not to gain short term political points with anti-immigrant rhetoric and spoken out forcefully in support of just and humane immigration reform and in support of drivers licenses for all immigrants.
- Barack Obama had the political judgment to oppose the unjust war in Iraq from the very beginning.
- With 52% of Korean Americans uninsured, workable universal healthcare proposals are a leading concern and unlike his opponent, Barack Obama opposed an individual mandate because it would merely force low income, immigrant and self employed Korean Americans to enroll in health care plans that they cannot afford or use.
Our 4 delegates have agreed to take unpaid leave to work on this campaign.

Why we are reaching out to the Korean American community in Texas
- On Sunday, February 24, 2008, Korean Americans from Chicago, New York and Los Angeles will travel to Texas to work with local Korean Americans in the week leading up to the March 4 primaries.
- Korean Americans are predominantly Limited English Proficient and new voters have less access to information about the presidential race.
- Korean American voters in Texas are swing voters who could be swayed to support Barack Obama if they were fully informed in their own language.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE CHANGE!

i understand that the Korean American community is not monolithic, and is also one of the most conservative communities i’ve known but my heart sinks every time i see election time, and how Asians and Latinos have voted
in California. it is with great relief that i see a mobilized effort by Koreans, especially in L.A. to promote Obama, and his campaign for presidency, the only legitimate choice in my opinion.
i wish i could be there but we are in Northern California. this is the very first time i will ever donate money for a
presidential election in this country. thank you for doing this.
The KA community is not going to go vote for this clown. He is a Black Nationalist Marxist Radical that can string along a few words into a poem.
The anonymous person who commented “The KA community is not going to go vote for this clown. He is a Black Nationalist Marxist Radical that can string along a few words into a poem” sounds like a Korean Nationalist Racist to me.
